  1. if the owner's wifi connection has limited GB per month than yes it does cost him money.

    Becuase you are decreasing his bandwith limit. and when the bandwith is used within a month than he is charged.

    that is called theft.


  2. The owner of the broadband connection pays a monthly fee for a certain amount of bandwidth, and you are using some of that bandwidth. Now, most of the time the owner is only using a fraction of said bandwidth, and you are probably using only a fraction, so there is probably no harm done.

    However, if you start heavily downloading and consuming all the bandwidth, then the owner might notice that the internet is slow.

    As others have said, if it is a metered service in which the owner pays per gigabyte of data used, then your usage most definately costs the owner money.

  3. Using their wifi doesn't cost them money. It will however slow down their network if you are running bandwidth intensive programs (Like download programs and online games). Remember that using someone elses wifi without their consent is illegal.

  6. No. They pay a fixed fee. However, if they have a download limit, then that might interfere with that.
