  1. Yes, you will consume less electricity. When you are using the fan option, the compressor for the air conditioner is not running and the load on the cicuitry is less. Thanks!

  2. Fan are great for helping keep the energy cost down during the hot summer months

  3. i would think so, since it might take electricity to power the "fan" option

  4. Yes, it uses much less because you are not running the compressor.

BUT it is really two fans, one for inside air and one for the condenser side outside. That second one isn't needed to just move air.

So a table top fan would use much less, maybe half, and they are cheap.

  5. I have always been told it uses the same ammount of electricity so i just use the cool for the a/c and dont bother with the fan.

try to remember this saying :

Fans cool down people not rooms.

i read that on a web site that helps you conserve energy.

Never leave a fan running if you are not in the room

  6. Sure it does ,but who likes to be hot?

  7. The fan function uses much less electricity, and if it keeps you cool enough, it's fine. If you have to use the compressor periodically to cool down,  it may take more electricity to cool from a higher temperature than it would if you had just left it on cool.

You may not be saving anything.

  8. Yes, it uses much less electricity. The fan option is like running a regular fan.

  9. Simple answer is yes.

Functional a box fan would be better and more air movement if you are going to spend electricity.
