  1. I just came back from Bermuda in June and I also have verizon.  She will be able to call you but she will be roaming.  she should check with verizon to see how much it will cost her.  For me it was .99 cents a minute (which is better than my parents who had AT&T and had 2.49 a minute).  Also most ships are now offering this roaming service while at sea so she might be able to call you from the ocean as well.....

  2. I have been to burmuda twice now and comunication isnt an issue. It is roaming thereso it will cost you alot for a couple minute call but i had 5 bars while i was there. i have verizon.

  3. umm..

let your girlfriend enjoy her cruise!

  4. Most of the newer ships (ore recently upgraded) have on-board cellular telephone systems that support both CDMA (Verizon/Sprint) as well as GSM (ATT/TMobile).  The celular network is connected via satellite to the world so you can place calls.

Roaming rates are high and are not published.  When you're on land, you can normally roam, but again it depends on the what the local land-based cellular companies have built and/or have agreed to charge roaming rates.
