It depends on the manufacturer, each manufacturer has their own special numbers or letters on the pills, even though they can both be hydrocodone 5-500 they will have different numbers on them, you can find a pill identifier online to identify the pill, but I know a certain manufacturer has an M and then a number on it, usually M 360, M 358, M 362, etc.

Brand name vicodin actually have the whole word "vicodin" on them in the U.S. and they are white and oblong.
