  1. The payoff odds for the machine will tell you.  If you can find a 9/6 machine for a regular (jacks or better pay one to one) vp machine then you are at the right place.  The 9 to one payoff is for a full house and the 6 to one payoff is for a flush.

The program makes no difference in the random hands that you receive.  The program does not determine the hold.  Nor can the operator change the hold.  This is what attracts many players to these machines, because they can mathematically determine the playoff as opposed to slot machines where you can never determine the payoffs.

  2. Depends on the program being used by the casino. Manufacturers can provide a wide range of holds for these machines.

Most of the older games tend to have a hirer hold %.

    Good luck.

  3. It really depends.  You have to know how to make a hand, and you have to have luck.  It also helps to play the max on each bet.  I have a friend who, in two different trips to Atlantic City, at two different casinos hit over $1k in cash both times when playing Joker Poker.  He made 5 of a kind twice, each by popping a $20 bill.  I haven't had nearly as much luck.
