  1. I think violence in the media desensitizes people to violence, rather than causing it. Also I think media violence reflects (mirrors) society. Violent media sells- if it were not marketable they would not produce it.

  4. Studies show the violence in the media is one contributor to increased violence, but cannot cause violence in and of itself. As Eve said, it desensitizes people toward violence and makes them see acts of violence as more acceptable. However, the media is not solely responsible for violence, genes and other environmental factors are important too.
