  1. I had them way back in the day... seven or so years ago and at that time they had no daily charges. They usually do like 40 cents a minute for the first 10 minutes and 10 or 25 cents a minute after that per day. Last I heard they were offering certain services for a daily fee, like unlimited text or nights unlimited past a certain time. The charges are way more competitive now than when I had them, but are still high. Some carriers don't charge overages as high Virgin charges for normal minutes and they also charge you to receive text messages. Here is the features breakdown, but it doesn't mention anything about a daily charge to keep service running: http://www.virginmobileusa.com/rates/fea... . Usually you have to Top-Up every 30 or 90 days depending on your account to keep it active.

  2. The whole point of pre-paid is that you don't pay per day, or per month when you're NOT using the phone - you only pay for the calls you make/texts you send.

Pre-paid is mainly meant for people who only use their phones occasionally, so charging them daily when the phone is just lying around unused just doesn't make sense.

  3. I had it along time ago and I didn't notice any daily charges.  BUT the cost per minute is ridiculous.  Your better off with a contract in the long run
