  1. Credit cards (non US cards) are well accepted.  You will need one to pay the hotel, trips or a car rental.  Be sure to get cash (peso convertible) with your card in an  ATM.

  2. Yes,

    Visa is accepted in Cuba.

Best time to go there as you can experience real communism as Cuba very free for tourism for the first time in decades.

  3. yes it does but have your passprt with you they need to see it too.

  4. Yes, it does... dont worry :)

  5. Many cards issued in the UK are operated by subsidiareries of US banks, such as MBNA Europe. Those will not work in Cuba. Check with you card issuer if not sure.

Otherwise, many shops do accept cards - but quite often you will be told that the machine is out of order, or the line engaged.

  6. I just returned from Cuba on Tuesday. Visa Cards that are not from an US Bank are well accepted in Cuba.

You may get cash in Banks (very high taxes) and at Cashboxes (Cajeras). You can also use it for car-rentals and to pay hotels.

But in shops they do not accept visa. So make sure you do have some cash with you (you can change CUC at the airport.).
