Does volume affect osmosis?

if i have a cube potato of 2x2x1 cm3 and then i dissolved it in a solution, the weight would be either decrease or increase.that's the fact.

but if i cut the cube bigger than it should be, will the weight after being dissolved would be affected?

why?

  1. If you cut a bigger cube then the surface area will have been altered and so the rate of diffusion of water (osmosis) will also be affected.  Larger surface area will result in more water movement by osmosis.
