Does watching "TV" on your PC affect it ..it would be cheaper than cable TV?

    The real issue is that the bandwidth of TV or video via online sources is usually much lower than what cable TV delivers.

    Most cable TV (and satellite TV) uses better and faster hardware-based compression that tends to give you a better quality picture.

    However, you can torrent some higher quality content, but the results are unpredictable.

    Stealing content is cheaper, but if you have an HD tuner for your PC and live in an area with alot of high quality HD-over-the-air broadcasting, that can be cheaper, but has nothing to do with whether you watch it on a PC or not.
