Does water squirting out of the back of my new waverunner indicate that it's cooling properly?

  1. The location of the cooling outlet depends on the brand.  Yamaha has their cooling outlet located  directly across the rider on the left side of the hull, if you're talking about the stream of water that shoots upwards from the back deck, that's what they call a "visibility spout" which is supposed to make you more visible to other boaters, and isn't a function of the cooling system.  The other brands have their cooling outlet coming out behind the back of the hull, so if your talking about a SeaDoo, then yes, the stream of water would indicate your system is working.


  2. If you're talking about a little jet of water that spritzes up at an angle behind you as you drive, that may be normal. It's a default option often left in by owners of rental fleets to verify that the engine cooling is working normally.
