  1. the engine is outside thecaranyway  really , it s OUTSIDE under the car ,, thatt only way keep it cool

, u should real go too spray wash and spray it while its running. KEEP THE VET ENGINE SHINY!!  YOU ALWAY KEEP CAR RUNNIG WHILE DOIN THIS, THEY HAVE STUFF ATAUTO PARTS FOR UNDER THE HOOD, TELL U 2 START CAR GET IT WARM THEN SPRAY, YOUR ELETRONIC INGNITION WET OR CPU BOX WET, PUT IN SIDE LET IT  DRY OUT WEEK, STILL NOTHING GET NEW BATTERIE,, THAT DONT DO IIT  TAKE 2 CHEVY,,A VETTE ,,TOE IT 2 CHEVY$$$$$$$NOW!!!!

  2. no, if watter is there, open the hood and and spray ether (starting fluid ) in the air intake  without the filter. try starting it, if it doesest start leave the hood open, disconect the spark plug wires and blow them out with compressed air, then use a leaf blower and blow out the engine compartment. hope this helps, oh and why did you spray it????????????!!!

  3. You should always cover electrical components in the engine bay before hosing. Like someone has mentioned, check the spark plug. Most likely there is built up water in there. Remove the spark plug dry it and dry the area around the region then reinstall and try.

  4. Wish you'd have told us the year of the Corvette. Most likely moisture under the distributor cap. Pop it off the distributor cap and spray WD-40 inside to displace moisture. Spray the distributor rotor also.

If this is an older point type distributor leave the cap off and replace the points and condenser. Set the dwell angle @30 degrees or .025 thousandths with a feeler or wire gage. If the ignition wires are older than 5 yrs. replace with genuine AC-Delco wires for the appropriate year Corvette he has.

If it has an HEI ignition system twist the four hold down clips, pull the cap and and ignition coil as a unit and inspect for water. It may be necessary to remove the ignition wire hold down clamp from the distributor cap and remove the two ignition coil screws from the cap and lift the coil out. Remove the round silicone rubber insulator bushing wipe off and re-grease with silicone ignition grease. Replace the center carbon / spring rotor button and put everything back together.

  5. dry the inside of the disturber cap with a blow dryer .. when you wash a motor you should leave the motor running and you never spray the electronics's

  6. Let it dry and then replace the spark plug wires if needed.

  7. more than likely  water shorted wires an in side of dis.cap if wet inside of cap replace it .water from hosegenerally wont hurt if some care is taken.

  8. What year Corvette?  A newer one shouldn't have many issues, an older one can definitely have dist cap moisture issues.
