Question:

Does waxing the upper lip remove the hair from the roots and become lighter overtime?

I have a little hair on my upper lip and I'm a girl. I've tried tweezing but it seems to be growing darker and a little bit green. I'm too scared to wax because my mom told me that after I wax, it would grow back thicker and darker since it doesn't remove the hair from the roots. And some other people have told me that it grows back thinner and lighter and it does remove hairs from the root. I don't know what to believe but please help me. Please tell me if you have ever waxed before.

  1. green?

    eek!

waxing does remove hair from the root. thats the point of it

  2. It does remove hair from the roots, but it will not change the way the hair grows back.  I have waxed my lip and also went to school for cosmetology.  I would say to have someone do it for you because it really stings and is hard to do by yourself.  Either go to a salon or have a friend help you.  Waxing beats tweezing any day.

  3. Waxing does remove hair from the root!  I don't think it will change how the hair grows back though.  I think hair always grows back the same but then again what do I know!

  4. Yes, waxing does remove the hair from the root.  The whole point in waxing is to damage the hair follicle and eventually over time, to damage it enough that the hair will stop growing.  That's why the more often you wax the less hair grows back.

It is best, however to get it done professionally, as it is more effective and less painful.

    Hope that helps!

  5. I've been waxing for about 8 years and It doesn't grow back darker, but it's not any lighter than it's been before. I find waxing to be the best option for me. I've never been able to wax by myself, so I always go to the salon. It's quick and easy, and I only need to go once every 3-4 weeks. I highly suggest waxing.
