Ok, when I was in gr.2 my vision went bad, so i wore glasses. By gr.3 I had to get a new pair, my eyes got worse. And then by the middle of gr4, they worsened and then in gr.6 I had to get them changed again. Gr.7 seven after my eye check up my eyes worsened to a 6. something. I have an astigmatism and im blind as a bat. I may need to get a new pair, because right now my eyes are gong blurry on and off, and they start drying up after like 15 minutes on the computer or something... My mom said when i was born i was born too early, and my eyes were weak and etc...do contacts lessen the worsening of your visin then contacts?...I'm only 21 and i have the eyesight of like a 60 year old :/ very depressing.

  1. Get yourself to an OPTHAMOLOGIST (MD) right away.  Your health insurance will cover eye issues so you shouldn't need to worry about a second exam.  But you probably cannot get a new pair of glasses until next year.

Talk to the Dr. about corrective surgery.  Your eyesight is nothing to mess with.  They can do amazing things these days.

Contact lenses (hard ones) tend to hold the cornea in place but when you quit wearing them your eyes will regress to their natural shape.  Generally contacts can correct vision better than glasses, but if you have dry eyes you may not be able to wear them.

Neither glasses nor contacts "worsen" your eyesight; it gets bad all by itself.  They merely correct your problems.

  2. i think contacts and glasses do the same thing. one does not work better than the other.

Next time you see your eye doctor ask him/her about contacts and dryness.

I used to lose my vision every year and had to get new pair of glasses too annually.

However when i turned 19, my vision stopped getting worse.
