  1. A weather realted current event should be fine!

This is from a Social Studies (Teacher Addition) Current Events Project book for students age 6-8:

The student will be able to identify the 5 Themes of Geography as being Location, Place, Human-Environmental Interaction, Movement and Region. (you can tie in a weather-related current event to most of these categories).

    GOOD LUCK!

  2. In a way.

It can do with the environment, no?

  3. different kind of sciences:

    1. physical science (mass, volume, speed, mesurements)

    2. earth science (weather, geographically)

    3. technology (mechanics)

    4. space science(solar system such as planets)

    5. nature science (such as living and non living things)

    fields in social study:

    1. economy

    2. community

    3. government

    4. history

    5. geography

    the answer:

social studies is only related to geography when its mentioning islands, peninsulas and the mass of lands, waters and anything related to maps.

weather is related to earth science which talks more about the four seasons in a year and also the nature changes in earth such as tornado, hurricanes and earthquakes.

  4. Absolutely.  A poignant book dealing with this is Collapse by J. Diamond.  It looks at the declines of several civilizations and weather was a component in many.  Climactic change effects growing seasons which effects people which can effect history and social interactions.
