Question:

Does wet hair on pillow attract spiders?

I have many spiders in my apartment and even though I get my apartment sprayed 3 times a month, they don't seem to leave. They only come out when there tends to be more moisture than normal. People tell me that if your sheets or blankets are moist, they will be more attracted to it. So, if I sleep with my hair wet, will it attract the spiders to my pillow?

  1. It's entirely possible, they do like moist areas.  That's really upsetting that you have that many spiders. I hate them.  I don't think i'm going to sleep with wet hair anymore..

  2. I would suggest you invest in a hair dryer and do not go to bed with wet hair.

I also suggest you invest in a de-humidifier.  This will remove moisture from your bedroom, theoretically making it less attractive to spiders.

Talk to your landlord about having a handyman come in and closing up any places where spiders may be lurking.  Or, if you feel handy, go down to the hardware store and get a 5 lb. tub opf Spackle, and a small putty knife.

Look in closets, cupboards, etc., to see if there are openings to subflooring or attic, or walls.  Spackle these places, smooth out the place just like if it were plastered by a professional.  I have done this myself in certain cupboards where the contractor dropped the ball on the finish work.  It is easy, and a lot better than worrying about spiders in your hair at night!

  3. well i sleep with wet hair a lot and no spiders come but it might be possible.
