Question:

Does what you eat really have that much effect on your running times and how well you run?

because i eat a lot of c**p, i am just wondering if this has any effect and if so what foods should i eat more of.

  2. While it is probably true that what you eat has an effect on your performances in races, i eat whatever i feel like eating (lots of junk) and my times get faster and faster each year. I think alot of it has to do with your metabolism. If you have a slow metabolism the things you eat will probably have a greater effect than someone with a high metabolism. Hope this helps.  

  3. More than you could ever imagine. I am a proffessional track and field HJ and what you eat is extremely important. I learned that in my first international competition staying in Germany over the summer of 2005 where we ate healthy everyday almost for a month and i was able to jump the most consistent i ever have, plus make some money. Your body and muscles break down from training and if you don't get the right amount of protein for instance, then your muscles take longer to recover.

  4. It does effect how you run but still I eat it just not as much. Eat a lot of protein, fruit, vegetables, and always stay hyrdrated. You can eat some junk food because you are human so don't beat yourself up if you do.

    i am a runner and when i eat c**p my times either slow down a bit or i feel really tired after a workout/race

    so my coach tells me eat alot fo carbs and protein b/c as an athlete you need to be constantly feedingg your muscles  

  6. ive been running since 7th grade. i think what you eat does effect how you run. if you eat better, you feel better and you perform better. eat lots of protein and carbs. pasta, bread, fruit, veggies, bananas. chocolate milk is also really good source of protein, our coach told us to drink that.

  7. If you eat a lot of junk food then yeah it would..try eating fruits, vegetables, and lots of water.
