Does whey protein expire?

I have a tub, and it does have an expiration date. When it passes that date, what happens? Do the proteins eventually denature and become less effective, or is it all the same as long as it doesn't rot?

Nothing happens. Part of the dates purchase is because eventually everything breaks down and will lose effectiveness. The other part of the date is the manufacturer wants to sell you some new protien. Powdered protien has a looooong shelf life
