  1. yes it does. there are several examples.  one big one that goes unmentioned a lot is the problem of coral "bleaching." corals have evolved to exploit areas with certain temperatures. as the water temperature increases, the coral reefs cannot handle the temp and pH changes and therefore they "bleach" and die. coral reefs are major food sources and habitat for a variety of marine life.  as the coral disappears to due water temp changes so do the species that depend on.

  2. yes.our human race has altered the earth, created global warming, pollution, the list go's on.look how far we have come in the past 500 years, has any other species done that? no. can the other species 'adept'? I don't think so. I'm not sure if my answer helped or not.

  3. I think we are starting to see some cases emerge where flora and fauna are dealing with troubles / threats directly tied to climate change.

The one that is very clear to see is the strain polar bears are facing do to the melting of the ice sheet, change in seal migration patterns and fewer mating opportunities -- all due to climate change.  The two links below provide some great insight, details and history about the plight of polar bears today.

Locally I've noticed that a number of songbirds are migrating weeks later in the fall than they normally do, thanks to a general prolonging of warmer fall temperatures in Michigan.  Trouble is, this means they have fewer food sources when they do start their southern migration to rely on.

In Vermont maple syrup production is now ending in March -- it use to be that was when production was just getting STARTED!  This has created difficulties in tracking the maple trees to begin tapping, production and getting the best product out of the trees.

While these seem like small matters to many, I fear this is the early warning rains of a fierce gathering storm.
