  2. A weather vane has an arrow point on one end and a larger tail on the other end.  Because the wind applies more force on the tail it moves downwind and the arrow pointer points to the direction the wind is coming from (and also points to N, E, S or W or in between to identify that direction).

  3. In Meteorology, wind direction always refers to the direction from which the wind is blowing.

  4. Wind direction is always given in the direction its coming FROM.

    WSW means the wind is coming from the West Southwest.
