Does wine corrode a hookah?

we did two sessions but neglected to clean the instrument afterwards. i've cleaned it three times since then, but still everything i put in it has the same taste, with a scratchy aroma, which wouldn't be so bad, but i like apple better than rust.

can it be corroded? is there anything i can do without spending a sh*tload of money on new parts?

You might try cleaning it with apple cider vinegar.  That should remove the taste.  Wine shouldn't corrode yor hookah unless you leave it for a LONG time.  I have seen it where my friend will put wine in and fail to clean it for 6 months after, but she uses apple cider vinegar and the hookah is fine after.
