I'm applying for a Christmas casual job at Myer and one of their questions on their online form is "How much retail/customer service experience have you had" Can i include working as a cashier in a fast food place?

  1. Yeah definitely!  You are working with customers, talking to them, serving them, helping them out.

If that isn't customer service then I don't know what is! Good luck with the job.

  2. The thing about fast food places is you get customer service experience in ALL shapes and forms. You have to deal with difficult customers who don't want to wait, you have to explain ingredients to various customers patiently and politely, you have to deal with children on a daily basis, the same with people whose first language isn't English. And of course you have the whole "Making the customer happy by getting them the best offer possible" thing, like, getting a bigger sized meal for 10p more.

  3. Yes i think it count because you are dealing with customers face to face.
