I heard they dont have a set schedule. they get called-in the same morning (within 1-2 hrs) if they do or not work, so always on-call. cant really plan anything in advance like an out of town trip because of that and its all partime work. so one week could work 3-4 hours, some weeks 30-35 wks. is this true w/all hotels? If so, thats horrible!!

  1. yes pretty much true of most hotel/motel cleaning crews...they want a therough job yest doen fast so you are getting it the entire time they like all rooms done by 2-3 p.m. and you can start at 6-7 a.m. as soon as guests begin to leave and the pay is low but of course it is honest labor so better than nothing

  2. I have worked in alot of hotels and the way it worked was, I would usually work 5 days a week. Sometimes as much as 9 days in a row without a day off. Especially during the summer because that is the season for tourists. During the winter, I would end up having more days off then what was scheduled because it just wasn't busy enough. It was hard to plan anything because during the busy season you could never get the time off. It is a very strenuous job and there were lots of long days worked but I enjoyed it overall.
