Does working out for 5min every 30min for 6 hours the same as 1 hour straight?

Does it have the same effect if I'm trying to lose weight and get my muscles bigger? If not, does the 1 hour straight do more for the body?

  1. nope, 5 minutes is not enough time to increase the heart rate long enough to improve cardiovascular performance.


  2. 1 hour straight does way more for the body than intervals of 5 mins over a 6 hour period.  its like doing 1 pushup every 5 minutes for 1 hr and a half to do 20, u wont feel the burn or lose many calories that way

  4. Same effect for getting muscle/ fat loss.  You may actually be able to push yourself more, since you'll rest so soon after.  The only thing you miss out on is endurance training.
