I am receiving physical therapy for a work related injury. It is 80 miles round trip. Should workmans comp be paying me for my mileage?

  1. I think it's specific to your state.  Ask your Case Manager or Claims Adjuster if it's covered - they won't lie to you, but they won't always "volunteer" what is reimbursable.

I'm currently going through PT for a work related injury too -- it sucks, doesn't it?  Keep it up though, it'll pay off in the long run!

  2. No, it doesn't pay for milage.

But you CAN count your milage, if you itemize your taxes, and your medical expenses are high enough.

  3. In New Mexico we have the State Workers Compensation Administration to direct those questions to.  You might have something similar in the state you live in.  Otherwise the agent that provides the coverage to your employer should be able to answer this question for you.

    Good luck.
