Does worrying about the future of the world help the progress of human kind?

Will constant complaining and emphasis on the negative really help in our current global crisis? Every generation has a chance to change the world for the better. Will we be the first to realise that it's our own plight that changes our world, not ridiculing the past and worrying about the future? Should we focus on the self for a change?

  1. The past does shape the future. We already live in an age where we focus on the negative things so that others can realize and awaken to the current issues in the world. It a reality check that some just dont want to know that exist. Prevention is better than cure.

Take for example the phenomenon of global warming and how our actions have been constantly highlighted as a threat to the future.

If we dont highlight such issues including other like terrorism than mankind will just fall apart in the future. Its better to expose the issue now other wise it will deepen and escalate to a level where these issues can not be resolved.

  2. Mankind has never been in the position before of actually changing the world for the better.

  3. Pulling your hair out will not help. But focusing only on the self does nothing for problems not related to self--such as "creeping socialism" in American politics; or the Iranians with a loudly proclaimed desire to wipe out the Israelis; or the Russians fear of our purely defensive missile system in East Europe.
