interact with each other in any negative way or can it only help my anxiety problems?

  1. There is no major interaction noted with Xanax (alprazolam) and Magnesium. Magnesium may delay the gastrointestinal absorption and reduce the peak plasma concentration (Cmax) of some benzodiazepines (e.g alprazolam), although the overall extent of absorption is generally not affected.

    So there should be no negative effect of taking the two medicines together. Just to be sure that absorption of Xanax isn't delayed take it two hours apart from magnesium.
