They do have that feature now.

Your best bet is to either a) start your own, or b) "Browse Custom Leagues" apply for a spot in an keeper league.

Keeper leagues can be hard to find, because they require more commitment.  Managers often flake out in the Public Leagues.

If you have enough friends or colleagues, you really should consider starting your own.

Also, few serious leagues draft before the end of the preseason.  Preseason injuries are why people quit.  They use the public leagues for "mock drafts" then bail out.
