  2. Yep, but do you know how to speak English first?

  3. Tá a fhios agam.

  4. Lots. And it's Irish, or Erse. We also call it Gaeilge.

  5. Tá a fhios agam. Agus tú fein?

For the note, we Irish simply call the languge 'Irish' or 'Gaeilge'. NEVER Gaelic. (Where do people get that from?!)

Conas atá tú? - How are you?

Tá mé go maith, go raibh maith agat, agus tú fein? - I am good, thank you, and you?

Cad is ainm duit? - What is your name?

    Is mise.... - I am...

Cá gcónaíonn tú? Where do you live?

Cá bhfuil tú ina gcónaí? Where do you live?

    Le do thoil - please

Tá failte romhat - you're welcome

Go raibh maith agat - thank you

    Dia Dhuit - Hello

Dia is Mhuire diut - Hello (response to dia dhuit)

    Slán - bye

Certain Irish words are used over here in English conversations such as 'eejit' (idiot) and craic (fun).

Póg mo thoin! - Kiss my *ss! (oops, that mite hav been said!)

  6. 'Maith go leor' means I'm grand or ok

'cuir chugam an bainne, le do thoil' - its very useful, it means will you pass the milk please

'Is fearr liom beoir' - this might be more useful, its I'd prefer a beer

  7. Bheadh "ionadh" ort dá ma rud é go raibh a fhios agat an méid Gaeilge atá sa tír...
