  1. I'm fourteen and I understand the whole idea and everything. I just don't apply it to actual life.

  2. Ugghh I'm 16 and I understand.

My mom has started cutting back more and more on what she buys me and now it seems like its down to food and shampoo.

I have to buy almost everything now. Its such a pain.

    Gahh!!

    I understand, but I don't like :((

I agree with the first answer; I understood at 14, but since I wasn't mostly using my money, it didn't matter much and I didn't care

  3. I'm 14 and I do; I used to babysit when I wasn't so busy, and I saved up enough money to go to Florida from MA and go on shopping sprees.

  4. Yes, I myself am 13 and I understand perfectly everything about money. I know that i should waste it on something expensive and something that I wont need.... :]

  5. I did when I was 14, I spent like £2 a month when i wanted IRN-BRU & stuff, I was always saved and now im 16 and have money :)

  6. The only concept of money my 14 year old stepson understands is that, in his opinion, we are supposed to spend any extra that we have, on him. He has his first job this summer and pitched a fit because we told him that he had to buy his own school clothes. We  told him we would buy his supplies but he had to do his clothes and shoes. Once he knew we were not giving in, and after he'd blown over $400 on his XBOX 360 Live plus games, he decided last week that he'd get his clothes with his own money.

When he has money from birthday presents, Christmas, etc. he is very stingy with it. He wouldn't part with it unless it was a do-or-die situation. So now, we do the same. Our money is ours and his is his.

  7. I'm fourteen years old and I think I understand the concept of money perfectly, but that's mainly because of money problems going on in my family. I feel kind of happy that I truly understand it, because I've seen so many people my age who are pretty spoiled, I'm thankful that even though it was because of money problems I understood the concept of money, because the people who don't understand it, are the people I pity because later on in life they may become devastated when they didn't know anything about earning or saving money.

  8. My sister is 13, soon to be 14, and she understands it.  She has a good amount in her own savings account, but she also uses her own money for buying things she wants for herself once in awhile (webkinz are her 'thing' right now), and for buying birthday gifts for everyone in our family.  She also just started babysitting, so she's looking forward to being able to save up that money too.

  9. im 14 and i understand the concept of money

i work on the weekends at my moms office to earn money and i save it just in case their is ever an emergency where i need it

  10. Up until about the age of sixteen, I didn't. It was all spend, spend, spend with me but I think that's important. I think it's important for teenagers to have memories almost of spending money at shops and stuff.

  11. Of course. Very simple concept, application of the concept is the difficult thing for MANY people, regardless of age.

  12. I understand the concept of money and I'm fourteen I just don't apply it.
