I have a 12 week old and I always read how other peoples babies are always cooing and making sounds..I also looked at some you tube videos of babies at 12 weeks and they were really talkative..well my little baby makes noises and coos..but she does not seem to do it all the time..she likes to watch me talk..she is really smart and I know there is nothing wrong with her I was just wondering if some babies are more talkative then others?? also she makes this really cute high pitched noises all the time.

  1. my son was pretty quiet in the beginning and always liked to observe More but by the time he turned 4 months he started to get very loud- now at 16 almost 17 months he is very loud lol. Yes, some babies are more talkative than others. as long as your baby seeems social andd smiels and makes some noises then i wouldn't worry. the biggest things to worry about would be hearing but i'm sure you've looked into that

  2. I think from reading your questions/answers before our babies are really close in age. (May 30th is my sons bday)

Gavin is a talker, he is constantly cooing and babbling, he even starting giggling this week.

But 2 weeks ago I went on a trip to see my best friend whose baby is 9 weeks older, and shes really not much of a talker. Smart, beautiful baby and when she gets really excited she'll coo really loud and high pitched, but other than that shes not really vocal.

She always has a smile on her face and is always playing and happy and a great baby, shes just not really a talker. I think your babe probably falls under that category too :)

  3. My daughter is 4 months and she has been really talkative since she was 2 months and boy does she talk, she can go on for hours, and she loves to talk with you, its so adorable, and yes some babies are more talkative then others. I didn't get to have my son long he died at 5 and a half weeks old, but in those 5 weeks he was doing alot, but not really talkative, heck i don't even think i remember him talking =P he rarely made little noises either.

As I am typing this my daughter is going nuts talking to me, hehehe

  4. My daughter is 9 weeks & always seems to try to talk but the words won't come. haha. Lately, I get kinda close to her ( like to play) & I will make sounds & she will watch me. She's been saying "oh" for about 2 weeks. She will also stick her tongue back out at you & smile if you do it to her. She's so fun to play with!

  5. My son Noah is 9 weeks and coos and makes all sorts of baby sounds. Its easy to talk to a baby but if you want them to talk back to you ........let them respond. Truth be told that if you want them to talk back to you give them a chance.....make the same coos and mouth sounds back to them and give them a few moments to respond and they will. Its the cutest thing ever i love it!
