  1. Well it depends on what your goals are.  If you want to play on the professional atp tour, it is a little bit late. But then again Lleyton Hewitt started playing when he was like 10 or 11.   If you just want a college scholarship to play division I tennis, then you still have plenty of time to accomplish that.

  2. I think that you need guidance from a tennis "mentor" in your hometown.

I know Boris Becker started playing tennis at age 12 but he was a super athlete, before he started playing tennis he was the goal keeper of Germany's junior soccer team. good luck and keep playing.

  3. no way. there is a girl who just lost to jankovic who is 16 and she didn't start playing till she was 11!

just keep trying your hardest, and if God gave you the talent, it will show

  4. Hey Sourrabbit,

Let me ask you a question, at the age of 6, how would you know what you are going to be. As a teenager you would still not really know what to be doing with you life. Don't beat yourself up for not wanting to take up tennis at such a tender age. You take life as you know it and as it goes.

Look at yourself, you've got a schedule. You've got a coach. With this why wouldn't you be an expert in tennis? You are well on your way to playing like a champ. Although, coming to think of it, playing 3 or more hours a day, I think you might need some days off. Let the muscles grow. Let them recover. That's how to build stamina. Work out, then rest ... and then work out again.

What I think is that it does not matter when you start playing tennis. Its how well you do it and how dedicated you are at improving your play. Your techniques, speed, and enthusiasm does not totally depend on how long you've been playing. Its your dedication.

    Good Luck!!

  5. well it really all depends on how much practice and efort you give it .30 minutes a day could get you really good but you also have to want it

  6. Depends on your dedication/passion over "How old you started playing tennis."  That plays a factor because it gives you a head start over others who might be starting at age 12 or any other age, other than 6 or so like many pros.  For an example, there was an ice hockey player who started playing at the age of 16 and eventually entered the NHL entry draft, signed by the Montreal Canadians.  Hey, it's very possible to become a pro at any age-- dedication is the key.

  7. well..more than age its motivation that matters...you can be successful irrespective of  your age...there are many professional player who start early but lose their motivation very early too...just focus on your goals...take care of your physical health..be raring to go mentally...there's no reason why you wouldnt be successful..
