  1. lol.. not only does my son like carpet food, but he likes carpet!  We have frieze (sp) it's like a short shag carpet, he I will see him chewing on something and I run and get it out of his mouth.... it's carpet.  If I see him eat food from the floor I try and take it, but I know he is fine.  All kids put things in their mouth they shouldn't.  Heck, tyler had the dog ball in his mouth yesterday......gross!!!  But woke up healthy this morning. :)

~Oh, my son is 11 months

  2. My 3 week old doesn't do that yet,LOL. But my 2 year old did and still manages to, if she drops a piece of cracker, she'll pick it up and just munch away :)

  3. I would guess if you restrict your eating to the kitchen you wouldn't have to worry about the carpet.

  4. I can't say that my son ate bits of lint from the floor.  However, when he was about that age, he would stash snacks around like a squirrel.  I'd give him a cracker, and he would run off and hide it.  Later, he would go back and retrieve it with a big grin on his face.  I never understood it, as he was always allowed to have a nutritious snack if he was hungry.  But as gross as it was to have to look for old snacks hidden behind the couch, it used to crack me up.

  5. It's a favorite snack around here...lol. Landon always seems to find a little bit of something he had in his highchair to eat later. He will also get out of the highchair and immediately crawl under it to eat what he has dropped. So, I have to make sure I have floors clean enough to eat off of.

  6. If your baby is healthy and you vacuum or sweep pretty often, there's nothing she'll find and eat that's likely to hurt her. It's giving her little immune system a chance to grow stronger.

Not only did both our babies like carpet food, but our carpet seemed to attract baby food.

  7. My 6 month old is already like that...he will try and try to pick up the tiny-est bit on the carpet, when he has toys to play with all over!  I don't think it really does them any harm.  I vaccuum once a day.
