I'm in 7th grade, and yes, I bring a cell to school, but I turn it off until I get on the bus to go home.

I'm 13 and by Mississippi law we arent allowed to even have a cell phone on school campus! but at football games my parents MAKE me take it. i do take it to school however on wednesdays. I leave school and go straight to an arts program thing and i dont get home till like 5 somthing. sometimes i need to call my parents to come get me early so i take it on wednesday ONLY! unless im goin home wit a friend.

Yes!

I'm in 8th grade and think every child should bring one to school.

For the younger ones, GPS's should be put in them as well,

because with all of the kidnapping cases, there will always be a way to reach your child.

Some smaller kids, and even some older ones can be really naive, and follow danger, so having a phone with them (and possibly having a GPS installed) will keep your worries away, and will let you relax just a bit more.

i'm 15, and i'll be 16 in november. i take my phone to school, but i always turn it off. my school gets really nasty if they have to take a phone off of a student.

My daughter is only 1, but I always carried my cell phone to school with me in high school. I either left it in my purse or locker. Teachers didn't mind as long as we didn't take them out during class.

i'm fourteen and my mom and dad let me take my phone to school, but they say that if it gets taken away they won't come get it. it has to be off though.

Yes, my 12 year old does. She keeps it shut off and in her book bag, if we ever find out she uses it in school, she knows we will take it from her.

My 17 year old just graduated High School in June, and yes he also took his to school.  He started college and yes still takes his to classes.

Unfortunately, now a days, with all the school shootings, kids being abducted etc, I feel better knowing that they have a phone with them in case of an emergency.

Yes, i take my cell to school. It really comes in handy to get in touch with your parents (texting, tho) if you forgot something or you need something or if you want to hang out with friends after school. Keep it off unless you need it and then just turn it on when the end of school bell ring.

Yes. My 13 year old daughter got hers for her 12th birthday. It is a TracPhone from AT&AT. It shows me where she is, she calls me after school to tell me she's walking home with a friend,going to a friends house to do homework,etc.

the only time its not with me is in gym class.. cause it would probably end up breaking haha

it really does come in handy though

like i can text my friends in between classes (and okay MAYBE during class ;)  to see where were gonna meet up after school or at lunch or whatever. and also to text my parents after school for rides, permission to go somewhere or just to let them know where i am.
