Not just Blue's Clues, but any other kid's shows that's interactive. Does your child answer the show, like when they ask "what's your name?" "What's your favorite color?" or "What do you think these clues are for?"....etc...My kids never talk to the TV. So I wonder what's other children's reaction is like?

  1. my child is 2 and talks back to them. its cute.

  2. it is normal. my soon to be 4 year old talked and interacts with those kid shows. think inless they repeat the words they hear on dora how will they learn spanish. what i find weird is my 71 yr old MIL interacts with the show also even if my daugheter is not in the room lol. at that age children are soaking up the knowlage. think if you didnt hear them interacts with the shows are they learning something. we watch alot of sprout and tc chanels like that. you little one is fine.

  3. Sometimes they do, sometimes they dont.  Although it eases my conscience a little if they are interacting.  Sometimes I'll yell out the wrong answer to something to see if they're utilising brain cells or just staring.  They'll usually respond with the right answer and call me a dummy mummy.  I found if you interact then they will too.  My kids will tend to interact with just about anything - they've been having a ball with a tent peg for the last hour!

  4. yes they do,

I work at a childcare center as well and it actually is a sign of growing intellect and a sign of development. Children who can interact with imaginary and televison characters are reaching beyond the bounderies around them thus expanding their universe even more.

  5. My kids watched Blue's Clues religiously when they were little.  They would answer questions but not necessarily "whats your name"..they would try to figure out what the answers were.  They also liked Steve better than Joe and after Joe came on, they quit watching it.

  6. Yes,

it helps them interact with the world socially.

    This is a good sign.

  7. Yes he does. He watches Yo Gabba Gabba as well, and whatever the dance is, he does it right along. And then when they go off, he waves and says 'bye-bye' just like they do. I guess some kids just feel like they're being talked to, I don't know. And my kids only do/did it if it's Steve, Joe isn't talked to, lol.

Funny thing, my husband has a friend who looks just like Steve from Blue's Clues. My kids don't call him by his real name, he's Steve. He wore a striped shirt one day and they went crazy....he hasn't worn it since.

  8. My 3 1/2 year old always interacts with the shows.  He loves Blue's Clues, Dora, Diego, Upside Down Show and just about any other show he can catch on Noggin that will allow him to interact with it.  On Blue's Clues when they ask questions he always answers same with the other shows. With Dora and Diego if they say a word in spanish and then say "say it with me" he will repeat what they just said.
