  1. My old dog did that occasionally. It was usually after he was lying down for awhile. I finally figured out that it was probably because his leg fell asleep. You know how you get that pins and needles feeling?

  2. Its not normal.

    Two things that could be going on are allergies, or a skin infection.

    Time to visit the vet.

    If the vet rules out both of the above, then it could be boredom. That constant l*****g can actually lead to sores so more exercise and mental stimulation are in order if that's the case. But have your vet rule out options 1 and 2 first.

  3. I don't really know why your dog is doing that but maybe your vet might know.

  4. this is a very common problem with dogs, i work in a vet surgery so i see this a lot... there are a few home things you can do and make sure ur doing that may help this;

    1. make sure ur dog has plenty of toys

    2. spend lots of time with it

    3. when you catch her doing it, growl at her and tell her to stop.

    4. put some chilli/hot sauce on the ends (so long as there are no sores)

    5. if it keeps happening make sure you take her to see someone cos she could really end up hurting herself and she could easily have a skin allergy
