And do they have to constantly GET UP as soon as you do?? So you're tripping all over each other?? My dog is 80 pounds so it's pretty much a collision every time I decide to get up and we're falling into each other!!

  1. Yes & yes....at my feet, on my feet. Both of my dogs follow me everywhere. If I'm cooking, I have one or the other on my feet and the other one lying inches away. If I'm in the bathroom, Molly is trying to jump in my lap and Eli runs in and out like "are you finished yet"? If I'm in the shower, they are both sitting there to greet me when I'm out. If I'm sitting down, one is on the cushion by my shoulder the other is lying beside me. When I get up, they both get up and trot along side. It annoys my husband, but, I'm so used to it that I don't even notice anymore.

  2. he is my moms dog (I DON'T FEEL LIKE TELLING THE STORY AGAIN!)

    and no

  3. all the time

  4. ROTFL!!  I have one at my feet and the other on my lap.  Soon as I make a muscle move they clamor all over me and each other like an earthquake is happening.

I think they don't want to miss anything.  Ya never know when it's "Cookie time!!!!"

  5. dont let him sleep at the end of your feet then when he lays down say "back" and walk towards him push him back with your legs and when he stays back then give him a treat. and say "good boy/girl"

  6. Mine follow me everywhere.

They will follow me into the restroom even.

I have one sitting on a chair right beside me right now.

They have learned to move out of my way or they will get stpped on.

  7. My dogs lay ON my feet, next to my chair, or as close to me as possible.  At any given time, there is a dog touching me or touching the chair I'm sitting in.

And when I get up, generally 3 of the 5 get up too. If I leave the room, they ALL get up.

  8. Not so much at my feet as much as ON my feet, she is 45 lbs but we are constantly getting tangled...I think her and my wife are working together to get me to break my neck...Jokes on them the life insurance isnt current LMAO!!!

  9. ha ha--yes.  I have three dogs and they tend to be right in the way all the time.  They do follow us around, but the one I bottle raised will actually paw me at night when I have stayed up too late for her liking. Sorta like-  'Okay, already. Time for bed now." (She sleeps on the bed at the end of it.)

When someone comes to the door or we go outside, we are tripping on dogs.

  10. it could mean that your dog wants attention, is hungry, or wants to go for some exercise. but you should at be feeding your dog at least 2 times a day. we feed our dog like an hour after we wake up so like 6:30-7:00 and again around 4:00. also your dog might just love you a lot. also i've taught my dog to use his manners by saying excuse me if he is in the way and he'll move for me. all you have to do is put your arm out and apply a little bit of pressure to your dogs side and say excuse me. your dog will most likely move and if you do this a lot your dog will surely catch on. also you can give your dog treats along with this exercise. but only when they do the right thing and cooperate. praise not only with treats but with physical and vocal love.

  11. Well mine does too but he's still a puppy so he doesn't weigh as much as yours.. He still can trip me though!

  12. YES, my dog is only 40 lbs and every time I get up she gets up and the worse is when I am cooking!! she fallows my every step, I totally understand you,  but remember that he does it because he loves you

  13. Yes!  And I love it!  My Lhasa Apso & my beagle bassett are continually by my side, at my feet & sleep with both me & my husband.  They are faithful, adorable & can do no wrong!  Just the sweetest pets ever!  My two cats both lay by my computer keyboard & if my guinea pig, Mancow, could be out running around I suppose he would be right by my side too!

  14. Lol yes!

I have a dog and puppy and they're always at my feet

the dog is around 90 pounds (Newfoundland X)

    He's always following me around.

Same with my border collie X puppy. But she's only a few weeks old so doesn't weigh much.

  15. Duncan sits at my feet only when I'm at the computer, any other seat in my home I let him sit next to me. If I get up, he won't go through the trouble of following me but...he will lift his head and follow me with his eyes, a little bit worried...as soon as I turn the corner and I'm not in his sight anymore he hurries to find me. He won't make the effort of getting up unless he has to...:)

  16. I have two 65 lb. weimaraners and yes they are always in my way. Iove them though. :)

  17. Duh!  He's following his leader, so of course he has to get up when you do.  Actually, you can train them to stay put, if you've taught them to stay.  Just lightly put your hand on his shoulder when you rise and tell him to stay, then praise his when he does so.  It may take him a while to get used to lying down when you aren't, but he will get the hand of it eventually.

Be sure, though, that it's worth following through on this, because you don't want to confuse him.

  18. Milly is laid at my feet right now.

She always has to lay on my feet whether I'm sat watching TV or sat on the loo.

If she's not laid on my feet, she's laid behind me on her back waiting for a tummy tickle, so every time I turn round l trip over her.

She's like my little shadow, always there!

  19. Not really...the follow me and supervise everything I am doing.  They are good at it  :o)

  20. your dog is too excited, perhaps.

my dog usually does what she wants. When she wants to sleep - she doesn't care about me unless I leave the house.
