My doesn't chew on my shoes or misbehave. So why does she have to sleep on my shoes? She loves sleeping on the bed (what dog doesn't) But when not on the bed she'll find my shoes to lay on. It a sign of depression, loneliness or sadness. Should I be concerned?

  1. Your dog finds it more comfortable maybe?

My dog sleeps on a potato sack because I can't be stuffed dishing out money for a real dog bed.

  2. my dog used to drag things off my bed when i was out late or spending the night with someone...it was cute...and now he doesn't let anyone in my room 'cept me.........

  3. i don't have a dog HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  4. Mine goes into the shoe closet ahah:)

    he sleeps on stilettos, ouch!

  5. No, the shoes smell like you.   She's not depressed.  My dog likes to sleep on my shoes when my feet are still in them. :-)

  6. I think some animals just like the smell of either the material (like leather) or feet!

I don't have a dog, but my kitty loves to be near (not being worn) shoes and my aunt has a cat who loves to play with dirty socks.

  7. Because believe it or not, your energy and smell (something dogs are sensitive to) is on your shoes from you - and she lays on your shoes to feel like she's with you. She loves you  :)

    EDIT***

Just like a child hates it's blankie washed - because their energy and smell is on it and they know if you wash it, all of that will go away and it will be clean and it will take awhile for it to be comfortable again.

  8. when my parents brought home a toy poodle for my niece.  she would crawl head first into my shoes and sleep.

think it makes them feel safe.

  9. You shouldn't be concerned at all, she loves you and your smell is very concentrated in your shoes. My dog is a boston terrier, short tail, and loves to sit on my shoes with my feet in them! You can only imagine how lovely that is when I'm wearing sandals!

  10. The shoe is the only thing that accidentally hurts your pets so they worship the shoe god

  11. well my dog doesn't like to sleep on my shoes it stays on the foot of my bed or lays on the floor staring at the door. no i would not be concerned by it your dog is probably just too hot on your bed and your shoes smell like you so it lays there.

  12. She probably loves the smell, Your shoes are covered with your scent.  My dog would sleep on my open suitcase nestled in my clothes when I'd visit parents. It was mostly cute.

  13. Your dog can sense/smell you on your shoes and wants to be close to you =] My dog does that sort of thing too when I'm not around - he'll sleep under my bedroom window when he's outside and he'll curl up in my room.  She's just showing she loves you, similar to her curling up at your feet or on your lap.
