Does your dog take up all the room, no matter where you are?

I am just laughing because I'm in bed and every time I move Alfie (my dachshund) away from me to get more space, somehow, and God knows how he does it, somehow manages to leave me clinging on for dear life at the very edge of the bed!! I have put him at the bottom and already he's just slithered as close to me as possible. :)

It's a double bed and a tiny dog - it's crazy!!

Do your pooches have no sense of personal space too??

Also are you a bit of a pushover? I know I am!!

Thank you! :)

  1. My dogs do not sleep on my bed, but I suppose if they did I would have a similar problem!

  2. What is personal space?  Anywhere I'm at, Cubby is right there, usually on my lap.  At bedtime, I start out sleeping on my pillow and him next to me, but by morning I don't even have one corner of it to myself.

  3. Milly likes her own bed and Amy sleeps in my sons bed, so I don't have a problem at bed time, it's just the rest of the day.

When I'm sat watching TV Milly's laid on my feet, stood ironing, she's laid on my feet, and everytime I move I trip over her, and I won't even mention the toilet!

She's very affectionate and clingy and has always got to be touching, leaning or laying on me, but it does make me feel loved, bless her.

  4. My two Dachshunds sleep in bed with me, and even if I move them away from me, they will always end up pressed against my legs or curled up against my stomach a few minutes later, and I end up smushed into the wall next to my bed. They want to be touching me no matter what! My late Springer Spaniel did the same thing, except she was bigger, so it was even more uncomfortable! I would wake up with my whole leg asleep from her laying on it.

I sound like I'm complaining, but I really wouldn't have it any other way. A bed with a dog or two in it is the coziest bed there is!

  5. I have two Dobermanns, so a fairly large dogs with longs legs to spread out with. Tori tends to be the one who will sneak up onto the bed given half a chance. Being a velcro dog she then glues herself to my side.

I have had to change sides to get more space, but she just follows me............she also manages to snag most of the duvet, so I can find myself clinging to the edge of the bed and cold to boot!

  6. King size bed...2 humans...and 1 Lacie (she ends up in the middle laying cross ways between us). I am the one that never has covers and is always falling off the bed!

  7. h**l YEA!!! doesn't every dog do that??? I think it's the alpha in them sorta like having to be first out the door....

  8. I am the biggest pushover when it comes to bedtime - having 3 little boys Pomeranians that all weigh in under 10lbs,  and having a king size bed - they always manage to get as close to me as possible even if it makes me uncomfortable.  I can move them, and within a few minutes their back right up against me, what can I say, I love it!...

Their as much as a security blanket to me as I am to them....

  9. 1 queen size bed, me and hubby, 4 lb. chihuahua, 11lb. poodle, me and hubby end up clinging to the edges of the bed for dear life.  Or wrapping our bodies into a pretzel around the dogs.  God help us if the other 3 dogs decide to sleep with us.

  10. YES.

    Here is an image:

    I weigh 109 pounds.

    Roxy weighs 12 pounds.

We have a queen size bed. Now, in theroy, we two should coexist on the same d**n bed with OCEANS of room left, right?

    ABSOLUTELY NOT.

She sprawls herself out and somehow takes up the whole end of the bed, and most of the middle. And when I push her, she somehow gets HEAVIER and BIGGER.

And somehow, by my attempt to move her, lovely Max, all 82 pounds, jumps on the bed and makes himself comfortable. Soon followed by 9 pound Sparky. And NOW, with my new home-rescue Nuckles, who happily weighs 35 pounds, also jumps on the bed.

So guess who sleeps in the most miserable position in the WHOLE world?

    NOT ME! Haha. My fiancee.

    :)

  11. personal space?!?

try having a queen size bed, hubby, and 6 dogs...

  12. YES!

Penny is the WORST. All 18 pounds of her little chunky body seem to take up half of a king sized bed! It's insane!

Noah isn't so bad, he just parks himself on your feet so you can't move.
