Does your dog think he's the center of the universe?

Question

Every time I put on my shoes Judge sits down nearby or jumps all over me. He reasons that every time I'm going out I must be taking him too.

My dogs are the centre of MY universe, and they know it.

They automatically think that if I put a coat on, then it means that they are going out, even if I wasn't taking them out I can't bear to see the disappointment in their eyes, and l end up taking them out.

I think they may be spoilt, just a tad, lol.

Yep! Whenever we head to the car, my pom comes running out and puts his paws on the car door, so he kind of have to take him XD

My dogs wait until they see or hear leashes before they know they're coming.  Until then, they're teetering between panic about me leaving them for any more than 2 seconds and being as excited as if they won a Nobel Prize for being chosen to come with me.  I think they each know which leash belongs to who so they look for their own leash before they get happy about the whole ordeal :)

Dogs aren't human and shouldn't be thought of as having human attributes.

They are totally self-centred, food - oriented.

Although I know some totally self - centred people. Maybe they were dogs in their first life.:)

Yes!  My pitbull, Mia, thinks she's a person.  I guess its partially my fault, but I swear she hates being outside if no one is with her, she sleeps between my fiance and I - under the covers with her head on the pillow.  She's absolutely great though!  The love of my life!

If I'm dressed in clothing for work/smart/going out then they just look crestfallen that I'm leaving them.  Four sad Dobie eyes watching me go out the door. They also know that when I leave them, I will return. To Tori I'm the centre of her universe, JJ spreads the love around!

Yes, Coco thinks she is the queen of the world.  If I am sitting down, and she wants something near me, she has no problem with stepping on my head or any other part of my body, to get it.  She thinks she should go with me too when i go out.  She hides my keys or she will go get them as a hint that she wants to go. I love her so much!

Most of the time, she thinks *I'm* the center of the universe. But at times, all she wants is for me to do that magic 'door opening' trick, or perhaps that magic 'car ride' thing, and then who I am and what I want matters for naught.

no my papillon knows she's the center.  her trainer tells everyone she is a little diva.  when we go to store everyone has to talk and make a fuss over her.  if they walk by she will go toward them and arf to let them know.  hey i'm down here.  when they try to give her a treat, she will take it.  look at them like thank you.  set it down and ask to be petted.

she's the official greeter at her groomers.  she will go between the groomers area and come out to greet the people when they come in.

surprises a lot of people when she opens the swinging door to do that.
