Does your hair have to be dry when using straighning/waving iron's?

Do i have to blow dry it,first,and then use the iron?

That would be best as when water gets on the hot iron it sizzles as does your hair. Although you can get some hair straightners that say you do not need to blow dry hair first I think it is always best too and use heat protection spray.
