  1. My daughter is 6 days old, and she is easily startled too. If my 2 year old son jumps or runs past her when she is sleeping she's startled and wakes up. I don't know why, but I hope it doesn't last long.

  2. I read in a book that when they get a feeling of falling they do that reflex. It helps to wrap them up like a burrito. It helped my son. Nothing to be concerned about though.

  3. f your baby is having trouble sleeping because she is easily startled, you should try swaddling her. this worked for my children. it is a comfort for them because they are so used to being enclosed in the womb, all these new noises are startling to them!

  4. My son was very, very easily startled when he was younger. I'd of course have to sneeze when he was alllmost asleep and scare him. I'd TRY to hold it in! LOL Poor little guy. He's gotten a lot better.. well as far as being startled scaring him. Now it's just called being distracted.
