  1. Yeah. If I'm ever having a bad day and I just come home and watch baseball. It's a great feeling. Whenever baseball isn't on (offseason), I'm always so sad there's no baseball on. BASEBALL=Myyy Life =]

    Good Question! Here's a star! =]

  2. Baseball is something for me to do or watch on rough times.

  3. For me, and quite a few other baseball fans I know, it does. It's hard to explain to anyone who doesn't understand it.

It's times like when my grandfather died, and all I really wanted was for the boys to win, and they did. Times when my parents separated and I held onto the promise of spring training, late summer nights, and chilly Octobers to get me through. It's knowing that no matter how far away my friends have to go, even if it's halfway across the world, baseball will always, always keep us together.

It's cheesy, but I guess it's true: I live for this.

  4. As a current college baseball player, I can say baseball has gotten me through some very tough times.  Both my mom and dad had cancer and my love for the game gave me 3 hours on the field everyday to just take my mind off things and just have fun and do what I love.  I also had my teammates who turned into my "brothers" who were always there when I needed it.  So yes, baseball has definitely gotten me through some tough times.

  5. Yes absolutely, i nice ball game takes my head away from all the bull c**p that's going on around me and even if my pads lose which in recent times they have many time, it still takes me away from every day life.............

  6. Yeah. When my parents were going through a divorce, I would always watch baseball and it would help me get through it.

  7. My girls hates it very much even though she watches as well but just to see me happy. And when yanks lose, wow im pissed the h**l off. Sometime when im pissed  just watch baseballl and my girl sees how much i love the game and she loves the games because of it. The best sport int he world hands down the rivalry and fans nad plas makes it great.

  8. The Giants are causing some of the rough times in my life...

but yes, hearing John Miller, Mike Krukow, and Duwane Kiper makes me feel alot better

  9. No it actually make my life more difficult. Watching the game instead of paying attention to my wife always get me in trouble. When my teams looses it puts me in a foul mood.  Wouldnt change it for the world though. Best sport ever.

  10. Baseball always gives me a chance to sit in my room and enjoy something. It lets me forget some of my problems for a few hours, and I find it entertaining. No matter who is playing, if there is a game televised I'm watching it.

  11. For me, baseball is a fun escape from the rigors of daily life as well as something to help distract you from rough times.

Baseball was definitely a calming influence for me in 2001. Two months before 9/11, I lost a family member who was very special to me. The first thing I did when I returned home was watch the All-Star Game. After that, Yankees games proved to be very good to me. Very calming and it gave me a reason to smile.

After 9/11, baseball again proved to be a salve for the wound. I can honestly say that the last six months of 2001 were the worst period in my life. Seeing the Yankees make a run for the World Series was such a thrill for me as well as my fellow New Yorkers, a good way to get us out of our depressions in the horrible days after the Twin Towers fell. Even though the Yankees lost in the Series, it was still great to see them make that run.

Baseball in general, and Yankees baseball in particular, are like that good friend you can turn to when times are bad. I couldn't imagine life without baseball.

  12. Yes i have looked at it that way, when i just want to get away for a while i watch Baseball the Yankees put a smile on my face

  13. I don't know if it got me through rough times, but it was definitely a distraction that I needed and worked well for me when I had other c**p going on in my life and needed an escape.

There's just something about the grass and sense of teamwork and the feeling when the ump yells "PLAY BALL" and its game time.

    I love this game.

  14. I don't know if it helps me get through rough times, but it's definitely a nice constant.  Everything around me might change, but baseball's always there, and that's nice. :)

  15. this question could have 2 different types of answers.  on 1 hand,  you can miss out on alot of stuff by loving baseball so much that you are always watching the game or at the batting cages getting ready for your big game.  on the other hand yes it can help you.  when i was having a tough time at school last year baseball seemed like the only thing at the time that made made me happy.  i have expierienced both sides of this so, really yes it can and no it cant. depending on the situation.   Go Rangers! (even tho they suck)
