    .

It doesn't stop, it may slow down or give the appearance of stopping, but a few girls on Yahoo answers have posted asking why when they get out of the pool, they have blood all over.  .

    .

If you tilt your pelvic area just right blood can gush right out.

  5. No it doesn't.

  6. It often does pause in water.  It doesn't stop entirely, though.  During heavy times, I have had a little drippage in the shower.

  7. As far as I know, it does not stop your period (may slow it down), but because the water dilutes it, it is less noticeable. The shower is different, since your body is not immersed in water.

  8. well mine didn't stop completely, but it sure slowed down a lot. but then it picked right back up a day later..

  9. No it wont stop your period,.....

  10. it does not. tell your friends to try it if they really believe it does.

  11. wow this is helping her. yes, no, yes no, yes no. yes it does. or it doesn't come out as fast and heavy, but after you get out of the water is WHOOOSHES out.

  12. No, it doesn't stop, it just seems like it does, because the water washes it away as soon as a little comes out.  So people think that it just stops.  But because of gravity, as long as you are standing upright, it's gonna come out.

Just wear a tampon when you are in the pool, and you should be fine.

Trust me, i've heard some real horror stories from girls who went in the pool with nothing on, and got really embarassed when people noticed "something floating around them"...lol

  13. yes, your period pauses in water. i don't have the reason though, but it does pause. it doesn't stop entirely, it just pauses while you're in the water.

  14. Let's use a little common sense. Why would going in the pool, ocean, tub, stop your flow? Magic? Then someone better alert surgeons to this miracle! They can do surgery underwater and not worry about their patients bleeding out!

Ladies, if you are going in the water and have your period, please use a tampon. Then you can check it and see for yourself that you do still bleed. If you think you don't bleed, just do it anyway. I don't want to be grossed out at the beach or pool. Thanks.

  15. How can it? You're bleeding - ask them if they cut their finger will it stop bleeding when they run it under a faucet?

  16. NO! Seriously, not to yell but DOY!!

Of course it doesn't stop, that's what tampons 4 for.

  17. Yes. Your period will stop bleeding in water. I still worry about swimming because i don't spend all my time in the water when swimming. and when you're OUT of the pool or river or whatever it is is when you're period will show.

  18. If you wear a pad, and then just before going to swim, remove it in the changing room. As soon as you remove it, get in the water within the 10 minutes.

As soon as you get inside, the pressure of the water will stop the blood coming out and not a single drop will flow.

Nobody will see anything and you will feel as if you did not have your period at this time!

but remember as soon as you get out of the water, go and change and put a pad!

  19. It does not STOP bleeding; it only reduces the flow.  The blood will not flow as much and as heavily, but it certainly doesn't stop bleeding.  Need proof?  Sit in bath water while you're on your period and watch what happens.  You will likely still bleed in the water, just not as much as usual.  If your friends are so certain that the blood stops, dare them to go swimming without a tampon.  The embarrassment of bleeding through their suit should probably correct them pretty quickly.

  20. It doesnt.

  21. No, your period does not stop in water. If it did, you'd see girls floating around all the time! Let your friends go swimming with a bunch of cute guys while they're in the middle of their "cycle" and then they will learn by experience. That's why they invented tampons ladies, come on!

  22. NO it does NOT.

It only APPEARS to stop in water, however your blood is washed away by the water quickly, so it only looks like it does.

You WILL bleed into the water and you WILL contaminate it with your blood.

I've had my periods since age 11, and I'm 34 now.  I've had 23 years of experience with this.  Your period does NOT stop in water.

Use tampons or moon/diva cup or NO water sports.  I've used tampons since age 11 and I prefer them over pads.
