I just asked a how to entertain a cockatoo and a couple of people said they watch TV.

He's sitting in the lounge now in front of the telly but I don't think he's really watching it.

Does your bird watch tv and actually look like he's paying attention and enjoying it?

  1. yes

  2. I think it depends on the pet's personality. Some do, and some don't. I have never had a pet bird personally, but a lot of my other pets enjoyed television. I think they like the movement and color.

If you are trying to teach the bird to say a certain phase or repeat a sound, then why not burn a cd with that phrase, sound, or song and put it on repeat when you are away or can't play with him. If you are just trying to find a way to entertain him, I would get him some toys, and play with him.

  4. My birds never truly watched TV.Sometimes the movement caught their eyes.I believe they were watching me more. One time we put up a video camera on lapse time, and taped them doing their thing all day while we were at work. They didn't watch the TV all day long. They kept busy doing what birds do best.....eating,preening,sleeping,playin... and of course they're practicing words and noises. My birds seem to like the radio(music)

  5. Mine doesn't, I heard somewhere that because birds can see infared they get confused when they watch tv as they see the infared singals aswel?
