Does your phone die faster if you don't have service?

i was down hunting and i didn't have service and my phone died in like a day, and i charged it that day we left, and i hadn't been texting or nothing on it, so does it die faster if you don't have service

Yes. Phones die much quicker when they have little or no service. Reason being is because they are constantly searching for signal and draining the battery way faster than normal
