Does your skin really take on a green-ish tinge when your nauseous?

Not all of your skin but when I get nauseous my face goes green-ish

It's just a figure of speech.  You know, like "green with envy".

I know that when you get really sick to your stomach that your skin goes pale. I think that the green-ish tinge is perceived because your skin looks so light that you can kind of see the coloring underneath it, the blue veins etc. Plus, when you see someone get that pale and clammy they just look sick. It's just a perception thing.
