grab your hand and make you do things?

Like my baby(almost 2) will grab my hand and make me push a button or like she will pull us to the pantry and put our hand on the doorknob and then point my hand at what she wants. Also she will pull me over to the light switch and put my hand up to it, wanting me to turn the light off just so she can turn it back on. She puts us(husband and I) In the spots she wants us,like daddy, she puts him at her little table and me across from him. Its cute even a bit bossy.

  1. Mine too but she's vocal about everything.  God forbid your ceiling fan isn't on! -/we were at the park and she yelled over to another child, "Be carebull, Hode onnn!"  -bossy!!

  2. My daughter had a DEAF PARENT, if we dont Understand what she want, she will grap our hand and show what she want.. sometime she lazy to use sign language . 20 month old girl

  3. Yep been through that and actually my 3 1/2 year old still does it sometimes when he just doesn't feel like telling me what to do so he will show me or if I am just not understanding what he wants me to do.

  4. my son walks me everywhere if hes wants something to drink are eat he will walk me to the kitchen. he started that at 18 months he is now 2 years old. i get tired of my son walking me everywhere sometime. i would like to sit sometimes and relax. so, i guess its normal for kids to do that.

  5. yeah he does. kids nowadays are more and more intelligent and receptive and inventive....don't be surprised of what will happen next

  6. My daughter is 19 months and does that alot as well. Today her dad was laying on the couch and she moves his arms and legs to where she wanted them and then layed down and snuggled, it was to cute. She does march us in the kitchen if she wants things or if she cant reach a toy pull us over there.

  7. Yeah, that is normal.  Young children are exploring and discovering how things work.  When they make a great discovery (such as flipping a switch makes the lights come on!), they want to show you what they learned.  And many toddlers will want to teach you how to do what they just learned.  It boosts their confidence to know that they learned something, and that they can teach it to you  :)

  8. My good friends baby is 22 months old and whenever she comes over she will pull my hand and when I stand up she will walk me over the out turtles and say look look and will walk me around the rest of MY house and point out everything arnt kids funny lol

  9. Absolutely.  I'm sure she says some things but it's easier for her to do that than play guessing games.  Plus, it gives her some control and she probably feels pretty cool getting you to do what she wants!  :)  Just be careful... my sister's son is 6 and he still does it when he doesn't want her to pay attention to anyone else

  10. My toddler turns the channel to disney and starts laughing. She pulls my hand to the Fridge when she wants some juice. And, today, I gave her (she's 13 months) a cookie, and she said "thankyou" loud and clear. That child is smarter than me.

  11. Yep both my girls did that, one is 5½ now and she no longer does it as she can clearly communicate what she would like, and my 3yr old daughter still occassionally does it, not often though as she can communicate most things, If I don't understand her I ask her to show me and she leads me by holding hands and points to whatever it is she is trying to say, So now if I don't understand her she does it automatically
