Does anyone have any pros or cons to the Teva open-toed sandals called the Hurricane that are listed below? I'm thinking of buying them for my 3 year old.

  1. My son had a pair of these and they were a nightmare. He would scream whenever I put them on him and the strap across the length of the foot on some of those would rub and leave sore red skin on the feet.

I got a pair earlier this year for my son from my SIL  that has the openings in them but that covers the entire foot. They velcro on in the back and have sturdy rubber soles. I can't remember what brand they are though now.  I don't have the tantrums either when it's time to put them on.

  2. My son is 22 months and he wears similar sandals (open-toed with a strap across the top of the toe and top of the foot and around the ankle, they just don't have that same strap going up the top of the foot) and he loves them. He didn't have any trouble adjusting to walking in them, like he did with flip flops, and they don't make his feet sweat or get to hot, like the crocs did. Easy to keep clean too.
