Question:

Does your toddler wear different size shirts and pants?

My son wears a 3T (an occasional 2T) in tops but only 18 months-2T in pants. 18 months are barely small enough for his waist and 2T barely long enough. We can't buy any outfits, unless the bottoms are overall type, only separates.

Is your toddler able to fit the same size tops and bottoms? If not, how drastic is the difference in sizes?

  1. My daughter is the same as your son, and she's 19 months. I have to buy most 3T tops(although the outfit I bought for 3 dollars at biglots is huge on her and will have to wait to next summer, if she still fits it, lol) and she wears 18 months or 24 months in pants. It's the potbelly and bowed back, they will straighten up between 2 and 3 is what the pedi told me. She wears a 7 in infant toddler shoes too, lol, and doesn't fit into 18-24 month socks anymore. It drives me nuts. She's also outgrown her convertible carseat and needs a new highback booster, but is too young supposedly. I found a good 5 point harness one. But she's 36 inches tall and 30 lbs, so I usually go by height mesurements on clothes and it works.  Good luck!

  2. yep my son wears 24months top, and 18 months pants.

  3. No, none of my kids wear the same size top and bottom- they're usually one (occasionally two) sizes different. Outfits sold as a set are hard to buy- I've had a little luck getting some, but mostly I have to buy sseparates

  4. My son just turned 4. He wears 3T-4T shirts and 2T-3T pants and underwear

  5. My son is 24 months and wears 12m-2T  shirts, and 12-18 months pants.  He is also tiny.

  6. My daughter wears 3T in tops and 2T in pants/shorts.  3T in dresses (for length). 3T pants are way too long on her but 2T seems to fit just right as long as they have the adjustable tabs on the side (she's got a booty on her LOL). I buy separates usually but if something is truly cute I get the outfit and pray it'll work, sometimes we luck out and it works for a few wears and sometimes I have to give the shirt or bottom to a friend since it doesn't work.

  7. my cousin is the same he has a small waist and big chest his shirts are like 4-T and bottoms are about 24 months (they always fall off lol)

  8. My son is 25 months and is such a peanut that he wears 18 mo. -  2T in tops, but still has some bottoms that are 6-9 months up to 12 months.

My daughter was the same way, she could wear size 5T and 6 bottoms until she was almost 9.  Now her tops and bottoms are mostly the same size. (She'll be 10 at the end of Sept.).

  9. It depends on the child and the brand you are buying.  You can buy some outfits just try the pants on first if he will let you.  I know this sometimes can be hard.   If there not that big and you really like the outfit you can roll the top of the pants or save the pants for when he gets bigger.   I also have the same problem with my son. 4T shirts  3T pants.

  10. my daughter is 2 years and she wears 3t 4t and some 5t clothes. she is tall for her age

  11. My daughter is almost 3 years old and is "average size".

She is 3-4 years in top and 18-24 months in bottoms!

However, her knickers are 2 - 3 years lol!

Personally I think all clothing manufacturers sizes are different.
